The European Archaeological Park of Bliesbruck-Reinheim hosts in its Remarkable Natural Space the third edition of the cross-border photographic commission "The Clear Line".
German photographer Boris Becker, a figure in contemporary photography, was invited to explore the transformation of the river landscapes of the Saar and Moselle.
Exhibition organized in partnership with the New Photographic Observatory of the Grand Est and the Land of Sarre.
Exhibition book on sale in our store (25 €).
- Archaeological exhibition "Gold in the sand pit"
In 1954, the owner of a gravel pit in Reinheim, located in the Blies valley, made a spectacular discovery: the grave of a Celtic woman which contained exceptional funeral offerings. Uncovered objects, such as gold and amber jewelry and a bronze jug, are among the most important artifacts of the Celtic period (c. 380 BC). The temporary exhibition "Gold in the Sand pit" attempts to solve a riddle: who was this woman whose final resting place is so exceptional?
Conference
" From Neanderthal to Celts: 300,000 years of human presence in Moselle-east " by Sébastien Schmit
Saturday September 19, 4:00 p.m
Teacher of Letters at the Jean-Jacques Kieffer college in Bitche, Sébastien Schmit has been carrying out surface archaeological surveys in the Rimling sector in the Pays de Bitche for almost thirty years. These pedestrian surveys made it possible to discover numerous Paleolithic, Neolithic, Mesolithic, protohistoric (Bronze and Iron Ages), Gallo-Roman and medieval sites. His research made it possible to better understand the origin and diffusion of rocks used during Prehistory and Protohistory, to discover several millstone quarries, to establish an inventory of polished Neolithic axes and Neolithic and protohistoric millstones of Lorraine.
He actively contributes to the research work of the Blies Survey Project which studies the surroundings of Bliesbruck.
In partnership with the Society of History and Archeology of Lorraine.
