Artist Residencies "Artists In Situ"

This system promotes meetings between artists from professional Moselle companies (visual artists, performers, playwrights, choreographers, etc.) and the Department's cultural sites. Artists can freely carry out their research —whether gestural, textual or plastic — as part of their creative projects, depending on the possibilities offered by the host locations.

In 2025, the Museum of the War of 1870 and the Annexation welcomed the Osmosis Cie Ali Salmi company for an artist residency, for a unique artistic residency combining contemporary dance, video and photographic installations, alongside the collections of the museum. This presented The Dancing Battalion, an immersive stroll revisiting the history of major conflicts and exploring their repercussions on the territory. An unprecedented encounter between art and memory.

The Departmental Salt Museum hosted the Au Fil de la Seille artist residency by Camille Mutel, dancer and choreographer. A cultural project combining walks, exhibitions and shows which highlights the Seille, the territory and the human connection.

Domaine de Lindre welcomed the company Mangeront-ils? who presented their project entitled The Last Cassette. Born from the discovery of precious sound archives (interviews with Michel Piccoli, Jeanne Moreau, Claude Régy, Ariane Mnouchkine...), this play questions the memory of theater through these voices that have become characters.

The Nilvange departmental library hosted two artist residencies: the Cordiallement company and its Circulomania project, a poetic and inventive creation around object theater, and I am made to live by the author Morgane Knipper, a project combining reading and projection around her future novel from the Fensch valley of the 60s and 70s, which retraces the journey of a child becoming a woman, between love, drama, disability and news items.

• Audiovisual projects ranging from short to feature films for associations, production companies, directors wishing to carry out all or part of their filming in Moselle.
• Subsidies to communities for their cultural projects.

Since 2022, the Department has co-organized with Espace Koltès meetings on "light forms", aiming to promote the dissemination of light forms in all territories, by reaching out to remote /impeded audiences. This involves allowing meetings between professional Moselle companies and those responsible for departmental structures that can host so-called "light-form" shows. For two days, these artistic forms will be presented to the managers of establishments likely to program them (Colleges, Libraries, Accommodation Establishments for Dependent Elderly People, Children's Homes of a Social Character, Popular Education Professionals).

For whom?

For companies which have their headquarters in Moselle and which carry out regular activity there in the following disciplines: theater, puppets, street arts, music and dance, circus, storytelling, other cultural discipline.

Under what conditions?

• The company must have its headquarters in Moselle
• The show must have been created at the time of submission.
• The company must offer a technically autonomous show.
• The maximum assembly and disassembly time must not exceed 1 hour
• The duration of the show must be less than 1 hour
• The transfer price must be a maximum of 1000 euros including tax
• The company must be available every two days
