HACKATHON - as part of the European Meetings of New Scriptures (RENÉ)
The RENÉ hackathon is a creative challenge aimed at junior or senior authors, from the theater and cultural and creative industries (ICC), as well as game design, audiovisual and literature. It brings together 20 participants for two days, who collectively explore new formats at the crossroads of theater and digital technology, by writing and bringing into play a story from
from a common story revealed at the start of the hackathon.
A collective, joyful and experimental writing adventure, conducive to the invention of new narrative forms.
The two RENE 26 formats explore telepresence and new agencies:
- Distance theater: Telepresence brings together a set of techniques, most often audiovisual, making it possible to unite remote spaces, artists and audiences in a shared experience in real time. Several devices are possible: a camera in another location projecting an image onto a large screen on stage, rebroadcasting the image from the audience's smartphone camera, a camera
filming the scene live to bring a second point of view to the viewer... It is a new medium that is shaking up network creation and opening up new perspectives in terms of distributed dramaturgy. This technology proposes to play with distance to reinvent traditional formats of collaboration and cultural dissemination.
Hosted by Claire Paillon, Antoine Klein (e-MDE) and Leopold Chrétiennot (e-MDE)
- Conversational theater: This is the subject of a new human machine theater collaboration where AI takes the stage alongside actors and becomes the protagonist of a theatrical game in the form of chatbots and holograms. It aims to question the place of AI in contemporary dramaturgy. The creative team will have at its disposal a chatbot tool (and its tamer) to configure, characterize, co-write and prototype an original form. This will be able to combine improvisation, pre-written elements and generated stories, multiplying possibilities (fictional characters, narrator, audience interactions, interpretation or improvisation of dialogue and narrative frames...).
Hosted by Charles Ayats and Nicolas Gagnon
