The Lantern Trail is celebrating its 15th anniversary!

Introduction

At Square Boufflers, on the Esplanade, the Sentier des Lanternes is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Supported by the Department of Moselle, this open-air route invites you to stroll among more than 2,000 lanterns and light decorations.

Christmas is told through lanterns

As soon as night falls, Square Boufflers changes its face. Under the large bicentennial oaks of the Esplanade, sparkling paths, illuminated houses and monumental decorations outline a Christmas village that can be discovered on foot, to the rhythm of a stroll thought of as a story.

The journey begins under the gaze of the nutcrackers, who welcome visitors in a corridor of lights. Then Santa's train appears, opening onto a world of games and magic where ice rinks, Ferris wheels and sound activities come together. A first dive into the excitement of the holidays before returning to the season of Advent and its preparations.

Then it's time for Christmas treats: biscuits, gingerbread houses and other sweets take on luminous proportions and awaken childhood memories. At the heart of this painting is revealed the great surprise of this edition: a giant cake imagined to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Sentier des Lanternes and made by students from the UIMM Lorraine Training Center.

The stroll then leads to Santa's workshop, where the little hands responsible for preparing for the big night are busy, before reaching the icy landscapes of the ice floe and the North Pole. Each universe thus has its settings, its characters and its atmosphere, inviting young and old to observe and be surprised.

And to extend the game, 15 candles slipped throughout the course. It's up to visitors to meet them to participate in a draw and try to win one of the prizes at stake.
